Our unique service for visitors from afar
Visiting by air Our nearest airports are Newcastle upon Tyne and Durham Tees Valley. We are midway between them, though Newcastle is perhaps easier to arrange flights to and from due to their larger number of air-operators. There are several low cost flights from the likes of Easyjet to help you. We will happily collect you from your flight an take you to the shop, then back to the airport or perhaps into Newcastle or the Metrocentre Gateshead where you can enjoy a relaxing meal and browse around the shops there. We will be able to collect up to 3 people at any single time, so that’s a good opportunity for both the mother of the bride and groom plus the daughter to accompany to choose something together. This is a no cost service, though the driver would welcome a small tip for his use of time and fuel. Completely discretionary of course.
Visiting by sea We do occasionally collect visitors from the North Shields Ferry, including a baroness on the last UK sailing of the old QE2 before it went into retirement. We will happily collect you from the port and take you to the shop, then back to the port or perhaps into Newcastle or the Metrocentre Gateshead where you can enjoy a relaxing meal and browse around the shops there. If you have to book an overnight stay we will drop you at your hotel. We will be able to collect up to 3 people at any single time, so that’s a good opportunity for both the mother of the bride and groom plus the daughter to accompany to choose something together. This is a no cost service, though the driver would welcome a small tip for his use of time and fuel. Completely discretionary of course.
Visiting by rail Our nearest mainline railway station is Durham and the nearest branch line for convenience is at Seaham. This is best for us but Durham is no problem either. We will happily collect you at the station and take you to the shop, then back to the station or perhaps into Durham City Centre where you can enjoy a relaxing meal and browse around the shops there. The Cathedral was voted the UK’s most popular Cathedral in a number of polls. We will be able to collect up to 3 people at any single time, so that’s a good opportunity for both the mother of the bride and groom plus the daughter to accompany to choose something together. This is a no cost service, though the driver would welcome a small tip for his use of time and fuel. Completely discretionary of course.
Visiting by car The map for our shop is on the Contact Page We are only a half mile from the A19 dual carriageway between Peterlee and Seaham and the shop is at the bottom of the village green directly across from the bus shelter. The road (Sunderland Road) is no entry from Seaside Lane and it’s signed as access only from the other end which is what you’ll be doing, ie accessing it. If you are close by and need directing in then just call and we’ll guide you from wherever we are. NB. It has happened more than once that someone driving to us has input Easington into her satnav and found herself at a place of the same name down on the coast near Whitby. About 60 miles away.
